Climate Change

The third planet from the sun, our Earth is the only planet in the universe where life is known to exist. Assessed to have been formed 4.54 billion years ago, the Earth is the sole planet in our solar system where favorable environment and temperature conditions have made possible the
existence of millions of species, including humans.

Since mankind came into being, it had to devise newer and better things to assist its preservation in a mostly hostile ambiance. Many of man's actions, such as the invention of automobiles, deforestation, setting up of industries, improper disposal of waste products, had been aimed at his own good but affected the earth either in a direct or an indirect manner.

Climate Change!!! Heat waves. Droughts. Floods. More infectious diseases and injuries borne of weather extremes. The projected effects of climate change may sound apocalyptic, but public-health scientists say there are ways to prepare for global warming's expected assaults on the body by educating people about the health risks of heat waves and enhancing disease surveillance. "It's not necessarily going to be of biblical proportions, but our living conditions are at risk of deteriorating...

Outpouring Hearts and Minds through Literacy and English Proficiency

English proficiency pertains to the ability to speak, read and write in English. To be considered as truly proficient, you should have an advanced skill in this. We know that English is the universal language, to communicate to those people in other countries; you have to speak in English so they will understand what you are saying.

Language is such a universal phenomenon in human society. Whenever we write or speak, we use it; whenever we make a promise or ask a question, we use it. In the statement All of the other ways of knowing are controlled by language", language is defined as words¨ and this control¨ can be defined as dominate¨. Then this saying seems not so fair to represent the relationship between the four ways of knowing. It is more sensible to say language gives some support or limit to our reason. A perception and emotion. It may influence them, but not only one way V the four ways of knowing interact with each other.

EQUAL RIGHTS;EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

"You are retarded!" is one of many harmful phrases of discrimination. People act without thinking, and sometimes say things that hurt others. Discrimination happens when you or someone else treat someone unfairly. For example, making fun of their skin color, their appearance, culture, language, age, etc. The outcome of discrimination has its causes and effects. Welcome to the world of discrimination.
A girl and a boy just broke up on the girl's birthday. Tears ran down the girl's face as the boy walked away. Two days later, the boy got a new girlfriend. It turns out that the new girlfriend was a very good friend of the ex-girlfriend. Jealousy took control of the old girlfriend, and hurtful actions attempted. This is one example of discrimination. Basically, the ex-girlfriend got jealous of the new couple, and overreacted by hurting her friend. Many people do silly things without thinking, and end up doing the wrong thing. Sometimes the effect could be good, and sometimes bad, in this case, it's bad.
This time, things get a little out of control... One day, a boy at the age of thirteen thought of himself as an invisible person. Every time he asked a question, talked to a girl he likes, or try to get in a conversation with his family, they ignored him. He just couldn't handle it anymore and decided to commit suicide. Eventually this will happen when people have something bad in them that will take control of their entire life. You will one day in your life experience a time when you feel ignored. You will want to do something to yourself like suicide, but that's not always the answer. This shows another example of discrimination. School makes us smart, so use your knowledge and handle the situation maturely.
A girl at the age of eighteen is doing poorly in school. Her parents are very strict about it and abuse her when she isn’t trying. Evidently, she is trying but her parents don’t approve of these kinds of grades. The answer that rolls around the parents’ head is “abuse her”. The girl is sad, lonely, and mad. She runs away and takes all violent things with her. Her anger takes control and murders homeless people. Look, read, and remember this crime. It is another great, but sad discrimination. Teenagers are hard to deal with as they age, but only they choose what they think is right, and don’t listen to what their parents think. That’s why we have parents in the world, to help us with what is right so we don’t grow up to be a criminal.
As you can see, all these stories are examples of discrimination. It’s a very harmful thing to people once you think about it. If you discriminate someone in a really bad way, you have a heart of a criminal. I’m sure no one wants that. We need to over think our decisions before we take action. If everyone cared, and nobody cried, if everyone loved, and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride, then we’d see a day when nobody died.

My Teacher My Hero

I ask myself, Who is my hero? I was bound to answer this question months ago. Because anyone can be my hero without being famous and having high importance in the society. Then I came to realize who really is my hero. For instance, I have my parents who are supporting me in many ways. My friends and family give me advices that I really look for. And God who's never tried in pouring me his blessings. These are my considered heroes, but there are these people who made it to be my heroes. People who I were with in times of pains and struggles in life. They deserves to be called "My Teacher; My Hero."
Teachers! Yes! You read it right. I know what's on your mind now. Somehow we call them terrors, strict and many more. But are we all aware of all their feelings upon teaching us great values that we should treasure? We don't. In fact, there are lots of what's and why's why I consider them as my heroes. There are lots of questions to be answer. I lift up my chin in times of dissapointments and sadness because they taught me how to be more discipline. I give forgiveness because they gave me values to know. These are just few of the reasons why I love my teachers.
Living in a colorful life and creating new destinations. This motives me in becoming a person with an ability to do more. I became the person who I am now because of my wondrous teachers who taught me and still molding me to become a great citizen in the society. Heroes are more than people who save child from sidewalk; they are role models. They expounded my ideas in existing here in earth, they encourage me to be an efficient son and a God's follower.

Science Month Celebration

The world was once a paradise. You can live in it with no worries. You are free from illnesses and diseases. Calamities are limited. You can have what you want. Abundance was once there.

The phrase implies that nature causes the disaster, when humans are often the main culprits. In fact, rather than being thought of as the cause of disasters, nature should be better appreciated as a critical part of the remedy to them.Extreme natural events are challenging, powerful, frightening and awe-inspiring. However, the damage done often tends to expose what has been hidden --the slow build-up of unsafe vulnerable conditions created by our human choices.

Eventually, the act of greediness took over in every man’s heart. They wanted more. They began to ruin the so – called only living planet. Because of modern industrialization, deforestation occurs, kaingin was being done, garbage’s around. Because of such carelessness, major problems had been escalated. Then pollution came: in the air, lands and waters. Not knowing that these will bring to a heavier challenge to everyone: Diseases.

We are all Science Clubbers. We are the steward of our environment. It is our duty to make the planet earth a healthy place for everyone. There are no other planet aside from the earth that we can live into, so we are the only one who can solve our own problems. Let’s all join forces and arm ourselves with healthful defenses. Let us race towards national wellness. Act now! Participate! Cooperate!

My Modern Hero

You're my hero. You're not a firefighter, a soldier, or the president. You're not a police officer, priest or a teacher. A person stuck in my mind trying to make it through my nerves.

For me, a hero is someone who is willing to put a hundred percent effort into protecting you from pain. They will stop at nothing to provide you with the security of safety; and will share with you the knowledge required for survival. A hero doesn't have a perfect personality, high importance in society, or having a classic name or famous thingy.

So what makes my hero, heroic? Well what makes a hero? Words such as brave, courageous, determined, strong, or a leader. Probably not because my hero is just simple yet lovely. She is always here for me. She knew how to kiss all my aches and pains and make me feel better. She was there if I just needed someone to talk to and she would always listen to me. She will do anything for my happiness. She always made sure that I had my school work done on time. She helped me with my school stuffs many times no matter how busy she might have been. Just by my Mom being there to listen to me and being a best-friend to me also makes her my hero. She always in my heart. My beloved Mother; she's my Modern Hero of today's generation.
